Greetings cards and gifts galore at Celebrations What you see – The close proximity to the trendy boutique ‘The Wardrobe’ at Asilmetta Junction in Vizag works to an advantage for Celebrations, a cards and gifts store. Customers trooping in to the boutique cannot help but stop to explore the gift items on display at Celebrations. We step in too and see space-saving racks and floor-to-ceiling shelves that stock almost everything. Some racks, placed narrowly in the center, slow you down a bit. But two shop floor assistants are instantly by your side to help you move along and to attend to your queries.
What you get – A part of the family business that owns ‘The Wardrobe’, Celebrations is an ideal gifts and greeting cards store. There is a bit of something-to-buy for everyone – gifts, stationery, home décor pieces and accessories. We see loads of greetings cards, soft toys (the cuddly bear and pink bunny variety), which are priced between Rs. 70 and Rs. 1,650, and photo frames too (Rs. 350 onwards). At Celebrations, the range of gift items that can also double as decorative pieces include vases, paintings, mugs with zodiac signs embossed on them, wind chimes, photo albums, Ganesha idols, Feng Shui items and porcelain statues. We admire a pair of Chinese dolls sitting pretty for Rs. 560. In the kids’ section, Celebrations sells school bags (between Rs. 350 and Rs. 600) and a collection of Funskool toys. Ladies’ handbags, priced economically at Rs. 300, too are available as also small stationery products like Parker pens and paper notepads.
Celebrations also makes place for accessories like watches, stud earrings, keys chains and mobile pouches, using space to the maximum. So it’s not surprising to see one corner shelf stuffed with belts, and another with earrings and perfumes and photo-frames.
Our verdict – MetroMela feels that although the stuff may not be extraordinary at Celebrations, it is yet ideal to visit during festive occasions as the store offers the convenience of buying a greeting card and a gift under one roof. The store is packed to the brim with stuff and tends to look overcrowded, but the sales personnel are quick in responding to your requirements. They also rattle off prices and product information with ease, and offer suggestions (in keeping with your budget for gift shopping). So it makes sense to drop by at Celebrations for your next gift-shopping spree. Parking space is limited to just two to three cars.
Anytime between – 10 AM – 9 PM (Closed on Sundays)
